Do you often work with several applications at the same time, which cover your desktop and force you to minimize all windows whenever you need to open an icon on the desktop? If you do, you may find that this handy utility will save you quite a few mouse clicks!
When you install Desktoplet?, it displays a small icon in the taskbar notification area (next to the system clock), that does not interfere with your work: it just sits there quietly, waiting for you to click on it:
When you need to open another item located on the desktop, you don"t have to minimize or close all other windows you might have open at that time to uncover the desktop. Instead, just click on the Desktoplet icon, and a miniature version of the desktop (the Desktoplet) will appear on the screen, above all other windows that might be open at that time. The Desktoplet window contains the small versions of the desktop icons, at the same positions as the original icons on the "real" desktop. When you move the mouse pointer over an icon on the Desktoplet, the title of that icon is displayed as a "tooltip":
You can use Desktoplet to perform the basic operations with its icons just like with the icons on the "real" desktop. You can click on an icon to open the file or folder the icon represents. If you right-click on the icon, the Windows shortcut menu is displayed, and you can choose the commands from that menu, just like when you right-click on an icon on the main desktop. If you right-click within an empty space of the Desktoplet, the shortcut menu for Display Properties is shown, again, just as if you would have right-clicked on the main desktop. If you click with the mouse anywhere outside of the Desktoplet window, the Desktoplet disappears and you are back in the application you were working with before. Yes, it"s that easy! (Don"t you wish all software were that easy to use?)

This fully customizable calendar features notes, tasks, alarms, and displays its data on your desktop through blending with existing wallpaper. You can organize your data in layers and share them with other people on a local area network.
The program can integrate with Outlook and show its appointments and tasks on the desktop. If you synchronize your PDA device (Pocket PC, Palm, smartphone) with Outlook then through this connection you also get a synchronization with PDA as a side effect.
There are options for changing calendar icons, fonts and colors, marking weekdays of choice and marking dates with notes and/or alarms. You can have a text only version of the calendar and choose between displaying one, two or three months on the desktop.
Recurrence patterns are available for both notes and alarms. An alarm can be stand alone or attached to a note. If interactive desktop option is enabled, the program accepts direct clicks on dates, notes and tasks displayed on the desktop.
You can set each note to normal, private or invisible desktop view. Private notes are displayed as generic text reminder and invisible notes are not displayed at all. Printing calendar data is easy and includes an option to choose date range for printing notes.
Special desktop pictures option allows you to add some of your pictures to existing desktop background. Comma separated values .CSV format is supported for data export and import. Tablet PC users should not worry as the program detects desktop orientation changes automatically. Finally, Active Desktop Calendar comes with world clock screen saver that shows your computer"s system time, plus five major time zones around the world.

In Hide Folders? XP 2 this mode is called Hide & Lock. When you add a new folder to Hide Folders? XP list, it will receive Hide & Lock protection attribute by default.
There are 3 additional protection modes available in Hide Folders? XP 2:
Hide folder protection mode. The protected file or folder will not be visible to a user, but it will be possible to access it if you know the path to the object. This may be helpful when you want to hide application folders but allow running the applications from these folders. E.g. you may hide Hide Folders? XP application folder, so nobody will know about it, but if you type from the command prompt "C:Program FilesHFXP2hfxp.exe", Hide Folders XP will run.
Lock folder protection mode. The protected file or folder will be visible but not accessible. It is similar to built-in protection of Windows NT-based operating systems on NTFS volumes. You cannot use this protection method for Windows, System and Hide Folders? XP application folders.
No protection mode. If you choose this method, your file or folder will remain unprotected even if the protection is activated.
